My sweet friends, Steve and Lizette, are expecting in September. If you know them, you know their boundless joy and excitement! If you don't know them, you'll see it in their faces! I will tell you, while photographing Lizette I got tears in my eyes. She is such a BEAUTIFUL Mama! I asked them to think of some meaningful "props" to bring along that might speak wordlessly the things they're thinking about their long awaited little boy. They had several ideas and we had so much fun incorporating Steve's baby boots, each of their native flags, and some adorable little hiking boots into the photo shoot.
I'm beginning to have a real passion for this type of photography. My philosophy of photography is to capture moments you really want to remember in a way that will speak loudly of what that moment was actually like. When I was pregnant with Lyssa, I didn't realize how special the time would be. She was a part of me for nine amazing months! I suppose if I had realized how special (and short) that moment was, I would have had my pictures taken as well. There's always next time, Lord willing!

By the way, have you ever had an instant bond with a dog? Craziest thing, I fell instantly in love with Duey, and they told me he'd never attached so quickly to a stranger before. He kept showing off and cuddling up to me, so funny!
